Why seawater?

What is actually in it?

Seawater is 96.5% water. The other 3.5% is dissolved mineral salt — and that fraction is the whole product. No claims, just what is measurable.

What it is made of

  • Chloride55.1%
  • Sodium30.7%
  • Sulfate7.72%
  • Magnesium3.65%
  • Calcium1.17%
  • Potassium1.14%

And the rest

Bicarbonate
0.31%
Bromide
0.19%
Strontium
0.023%
Boron
0.013%
Fluoride
0.004%
All other trace elements combined
< 0.01%

Those eleven are effectively the whole of it. The iodine, lithium, zinc, manganese, molybdenum and everything else making up the 78 share the last hundredth of a percent between them — almost nothing by weight, which is exactly the point. At those concentrations you cannot dose them one at a time; you take them in the ratio the ocean already holds them in. Typical open-ocean values at 34–35 ‰.

What they do in a human body

  • ChlorideWith sodium, the main electrolyte outside your cells. Also used to make stomach acid.
  • SodiumGoverns fluid balance and the movement of water between compartments.
  • SulfateFeeds the sulfation pathways used in connective tissue.
  • MagnesiumA cofactor in hundreds of enzyme reactions; muscle and nerve function.
  • CalciumStructural in bone, and the signalling ion behind muscle contraction.
  • PotassiumNerve signalling, and fluid balance inside the cell.
  • BicarbonateThe blood’s main buffer, holding pH in its narrow working range.
  • BromideFound throughout the body in traces. No essential role established in humans.
  • StrontiumChemically close to calcium and follows it into bone. Not classed as essential.
  • BoronInteracts with calcium and magnesium metabolism. Not classed as essential in humans.
  • FluorideIncorporated into tooth enamel and bone.
  • The rest of the 78Iodine, lithium, zinc, manganese, molybdenum and more — each at trace concentration.

“Isn’t that just salt water?

It is the question we get most, and the answer is chemistry rather than marketing.

Table salt

An isolated compound — over 99% pure sodium chloride, stripped out of the matrix it occurred in. The sodium arrives without the potassium and magnesium the body uses to process it, so the body has to draw on its own reserves to make up the difference.

Seawater

Not an additive, but the medium itself. Sodium is one element among 78, already bound to potassium, magnesium and calcium in the proportions the ocean holds them in. Nothing has to be borrowed to bring it into balance.

And it cannot be imitated. Stirring sea salt into fresh water does not rebuild that structure — the ions are no longer linked the way they were. That is precisely why we bottle seawater instead of reconstituting it.

Our process

Sea to bottle, in three steps.

01

Sourced from the Gulf

Drawn from Florida’s Gulf Coast, below the surface layer and away from run-off. Sourced under license, at ambient temperature.

02

Cold-filtered at 0.2 micron

Filtration is physical, never thermal. 0.2 micron is the standard specification for sterile filtration — it retains bacteria and particulates, including microplastics, while dissolved minerals pass through untouched.

03

Sealed in glass

Bottled in non-porous glass. No plastic touches the water, so nothing migrates out of the container and into it.

So what does hypertonic actually mean?

Tonicity compares how concentrated a liquid is against your own blood. Three words cover it.

HypotonicLess concentrated than blood.
IsotonicThe same as blood — about 9 g of salts per litre, or 0.9%.
HypertonicMore concentrated than blood. Full-strength seawater carries about 34 g per litre.

34 parts per thousand means 34 grams of dissolved mineral salt in every litre, roughly 3.4%. That is close to four times the concentration of blood, which is exactly why it is diluted in water before drinking rather than taken neat.

The SeaVitalis Ritual

Not a product. A rhythm.

See the range

The ocean was never meant to be a one-off. Here is how it fits into an ordinary week — three moments, no thinking required.

01 — Every morning

A capful, before anything else.

Start your day with SeaVitalis diluted in water on an empty stomach. Your body absorbs minerals most efficiently before food, setting a foundation of hydration and balance for the hours ahead.

Drink · Daily
02 — Once a week

Ten minutes of clay.

An even layer of mineral clay on clean skin. Rinse warm. White kaolin if your skin runs sensitive, green if it runs oily. Sunday evening, most people find.

Skin · Weekly
03 — Whenever it counts

After heat, effort or a long flight.

A cold measure within thirty minutes of the last kilometer. Through heavy weeks, keep the litre on the counter and let the ritual scale with the load.

Drink · As needed

After a month it stops being something you decide, and becomes part of the morning. That is the whole idea.

One Source, Many Forms

We only have one ingredient. We are not done finding shapes for it.

Everything under this name begins in the same water, at the same coordinate, at the same depth. What changes is the form it reaches you in. Two of those exist today. Others are in the works.
